About

Are you a busy woman like me who loves sewing, but never seems to have enough time to finish all of your projects? Do you have a lot of great ideas that are never realized because you don’t have the motivation to see them through? Or maybe you want to learn how to sew, but don’t know where to start? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this blog is for you!

The Unfinished Sewing Project Party Blog is based on the idea that you, as a busy woman, still need a creative outlet, despite your hectic schedule. It’s time to carve out a few hours a month just for you—a few hours where you can push the pause button on work, take a break from Mommyville, and grant yourself an afternoon full of fun, fabric and friends at an Unfinished Project Party!

My first Unfinished Project Party started when I realized that I was guilty of being a “Serial Project Starter,” but not a “Project Finisher.” I had several sewing projects that I needed to complete, but never had the time to finish them. So I invited a few girlfriends over one Saturday and we spent the entire afternoon working on our projects. And guess what? I got all of my projects done and had a great time doing it! Thus, my Unfinished Project Parties began. Now, when I have a bunch of unfinished projects, I invite all of my girlfriends over to work on their unfinished projects, and I encourage you to do the same!

From time to time, you might see sewing tips from my mom, “Mamma Gail” show up on this blog. She is the one who taught me to sew, and I am happy to share her tips with you.

Many of the projects that are featured on the blog are the original ideas of creative women just like you. If you have a project you would like to have featured on the blog, please send an email to unfinishedprojectparty@gmail.com and maybe your project will be featured on our next blog post! I am looking forward to going on this sewing journey with you!
